Not Working Does Not Mean You Are A Lady Of Leisure!

Yes, that's very true! I discovered that not going to work and doing household chores with six children at my age now...is very, very tiring! However, there is also a feeling of wholesomeness knowing that these two hands were the ones actually mopping and scrubbing the floor, folding clothes (I hate this so much!), cleaning Hajar and Muhammad, feeding them, running around and playing with them and hear their laughters, of course cooking and also becoming grumpy, ha ha!! But, I am very, very happy but, really, really exhausted...I have two documents I have to work on later when I wake up again in a few hours time!

And, here the cakes and bakes of last week that I made before Wahyan left on Saturday....Devil's Food Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese and Ganache was the falvour of last week! I made several of these, thank you Fayza (who also connected very well with me and hubby as soon as we opened our mouths!!), Nora (I hope the Raya project materialises, inshaallah), Rozlina (who also ordered moist chocolate cake) and for TM and my family to enjoy (too bad couldn't share with RG who was not well to meet TM and myself for lunch).
I couldn't get this image printedd as edible image, so I decided to create it using sugarpaste for Rozlina's son.
Another one for Rozlina's son and the mommy and daddy!
This blue reminds me of that thing in the Robin Blue Box...ehem, you know what I mean! They have some excuisite stuff that you never get sick of even by just looking at them!
And, ribbons and bows are in season with Yani, after butterflies! Thank you Nooriza for this orders!
I also love this gooseberry green..I have a cotton voile baju kurung in this colour, too!
And this is for a famous doctor in HUKM, from her nephew and niece...but Husne who is a leukemia patient was in hospital during the celebration, he was not well...sabar....that is all I can offer to mom Nooriza, you two are privileged ones!
And, here are the images of the beautiful colours of my life!
Hajar, putting on her 'dark glasses'!!
"Mom! Cantik!!", she kept on saying after that!
One of Khadijah's paintings!
Ibraheem and one of his best buddy at the latter's birthday celebration.

Special announcement....

First and foremost, thank you for all your comments in my previous post, all are invited to enjoy the peaceful and serene time in Ayer Baloi by staying in at our humble other abode, seriously! Just text me or email me, I will arrange for the keys to be delivered to you! You can cook if you want, otherwise just laze around and enjoy the good food from the warungs nearby...I'd rather buy when in Ayer Baloi, they are nicer than my home cooked food!

Secondly, for the next two weeks I will be working from home, as in I will not be in the office, but working online....my maid is taking a holiday for that duration....or longer if she didn't return, he he! Life has to go on as usual, so am not worrying so much about her abscence. In the mean time I'm looking for boidatas, in case my maid goes off for good.

And as for cake orders, I have turned down those for collection on Sunday, sorry, but, am honouring your orders for next week as confirmed. And, for the next weekend, I am still open. I will inform of any hiatus if any that might forbid me from taking orders for the following week, ya...hmm, I just don't know what to expect when she goes off tomorrow, actually, she was supposed to go much later...let me cross the bridge when I get there!

Have a brilliant weekend you all!

Living Life and Loving It

This post is about my celebration of life. I had a very hectic time at work last week, but at the same time I had a terrific time doing the things I enjoyed doing and spent terrific moments with loved ones. I had planned much earlier for a Friday off day last week to just laze around, I ended up baking the whole day....and I enjoyed every minute of it! I also met some wonderful people who read my blog....Faridah and Nooriza and yet to see face to face visitors who dropped emails...like Fayza....

On Thursday, hubby decided to throw a surprise birthday lunch for his partner aka Superwomanwannabe at Rahsia...and I made Devil's Food Chocolate Cake the way I want it to be...with Strawberries, Chocolate Ganache, Cream Cheese and Valrhona Chocolate....hmm, am still thinking about it until today...the taste of Valrohna infused with the smell of strawberries and the silky taste of Cream Cheese so palatable but uncluttered...it was just so heavenly!

I slept at 1.30 that night finishing the hantaran cakes for my other sister from a different father and mother, but we look so much alike...Liza. The cakes were going to Muar, for her cousin's akad nikah!

And, I slept at 2.30 on Saturday morning, smiling, after completing successfully a Barbie Cake for the overjoyed birthday girl Fatini.....and also because I met Nooriza, who came all the way from Bukit Jelutong to collect her cake for her husband that night. And Nooriza's husband also shares the same passion like my husband's, they loved what I call "kayu buruk" solid wood furnitures, my husband is more inclined towards vintage ones! When I spoke to her earlier, we shed tears when she told me about her young toddler who had just completed his chemo treatment, he too has ALL leukemia like my sil, subhanallah! I feel her pain, but Allah knows best what's in it for you....

And, Saturday I followed husband back to Ayer Baloi, after missing so many trips there with him...and my! He had filled up the house with new collections of vintage plates and crockery and "kayu buruks", looks like we might be moving there sooner than I thought?!!

And, the renovations for our new room and open bathroom...it's going to be a new love-nest for moi and hubby!!??

And, of course, what's a trip to Pontian without going for the seafood in Kukup...ahh, I can never get enough of what I did last week! Enjoy the pictures!

The Cake That Almost Didn't!

Yup, this cakes almost didn't make it to its destination! And of all the days, Mondays have always been the most kalut day in the week. Husband suggested that Wan, the office driver sent this cake this morning, but I said I'll do it as I was afraid something might happen to the cake....and of course that something took place!!

I was driving calmly but hurriedly, when the car infront pulled an emergency brake....the box with the cakes almost flew front the seat! I managed to grab the box, decided to place the cuppies on the passenger seat next to me...two cakes were smeared, the images were pulled.... and the Devils Food Chocolate Cake that I placed behind slipped to the foot-rest behind....errr...I almost had a heart attack!

I reached the destination, got Puteri's bibik to help me clean the box and did emergency touch-ups....okaylah, but am still thinking about the cakes...haih....think I have to think of better ways to transport these delicate gems.....sigh.....

I managed to speak to Puteri and am waiting for her to see the cakes, she is still at work....anyway, thank you Puteri for this order, am anxiously waiting for your call dub dab dub dab......the heart beats....I hope I have not disappointed the birthday boy :(
On the way back to office, I decided to drop by Sham's house to say goodbye to her, she's leaving for a holiday and I won't see her again until later this month...and this is one of the pictures she snapped while trying my new camera...she managed to pull a smile from me and helped mend the sakit jantung I had earliers...that's waht friends are for.....more cakey stories later. Have a brilliant and productive week you all! -KG-
