The Weekend That Was...

Sunday morning felt so good! This assignment was accomplished...to some it might not be a big deal..to me...it was a first time doing a tier cake and using pillars to stack the cakes! ...and I have never had any practise doing this before! The task was to have four or five recipes of Red Velvet cake and covered with cream cheese as a cutting cake! This cake was ordered by Haslina for her niece Tasya...and Haslina said Red Velvet cake is best served with cream cheese, period! So, I had to crack my head, and googled for some answers of how to go about this...and consultations with my sifu Wiz! In the end, I decided to make 3 recipes in 10 inches cake tins and a recipe in an 8 inch cake tin...with the cream cheese, the cakes weighed almost 10kg!...and because I had to transport from my house to the other side of the world Shah Alam...I had to create two layers and fit the pillars  on the base and refrigerate or else the layers would slide during transportation...phewww.....think I lost one kg doing the whole works!

But thank god everything went well, except some smudges on the icing on the way, which I tidied at location...and the flowers too were set at the venue!...and I must thank Razlyn who had kindly chaperoned me there and to give moral support!...so here goes...4 recipes of Red Velvet Cakes with Cream Cheese and Champagne Roses, White Carnations and Baby's Breath for Tansya!

Please ignore the imperfections...am only human LOL!
Imagine me doing the works with the band rehearsing Ronan Keating's I say It Best When  I Say Nothing At All...oh so romantic....brought back the times of mine and hubs!
Nice setting...simple and fresh but nice!
After that, I took Ibraheem, Umar, Khadijah and Muhammad for dinner at Cozy GE Mall...hubs, Yusof and Hajar were in Ayer Baloi. Look at Muhammad when asked to pose for the camera...he shut his eyes!

...I made this Sicilian Orange Cake for Razlyn as thank you...and Macarons will come later!
